20 Weeks
Week 20: Monday, March 5th, 2018
Eggy's Size: Mango (yummmm) 10.50 oz, 10.08" (crown to heel, instead of crown to rump)
Weight Gained: ~6-7 lbs gained
Pregnancy Symptoms: Still having the pulsatile tinnitus (super annoying) but I guess at this point I've grown used to it. Baby is kicking up a storm. I think this baby is going to be an energetic one. This week I've also been having lots of bloating and gas (that I cannot release....tmi). I feel like a beach ball. We figured out I can't eat brussel sprouts b/c they give me too much gas. LOL Unfortunately, NONE of my pants fit anymore. I've resorted to just leaving them open and using rubber bands to hold them together, or just wearing dresses. But I guess I should see this as a good thing because that means our baby is growing big and strong!
Food Cravings: Still liking spicy foods. Recently been really into bagels with cream cheese....I haven't indulged this very much though. I'm really tempted to just buy some for at home, but I will try to resist.
Food Aversions: Brussel sprouts, but mostly because of the after effects. I don't literally feel nauseous while I'm eating them.
Mood: On the bright side I haven't had as much insomnia. But I still feel tired. Even though every night I sleep 8-9 hours I wake up feeling exhausted. Luckily, I haven't been waking up that much to pee (as I was in previous weeks). I'm a stomach sleeper, so it's been weird having to sleep on my side now.
Eggy's Mood: Energetic. Baby seems to be having a wonderful time rolling around and hitting me with his/her arms and legs. I literally just felt another kick while typing this.
Baby Prepping Accomplishments: I started finding nursery inspiration ideas on Pinterest! I think I want to go with a gender neutral theme either way. I'm not really into super pink princessy or super blue cars and trucks. This seems to be the trend I've noticed other people have adopted too. I also don't want our kid to feel pressure to conform to either gender. Just because you're a girl doesn't mean you have to love dolls and frilly things. On the flip side just because you're a boy you should feel pressure to like monsters and trucks etc. So, for our baby I am leaning towards a safari/jungle theme with tropical leaves and elephants and giraffes, with lots of soft grays, black and white, and splashes of green. We've been holding off previously mostly because we've been busy with moving into the new house. But, I can't wait!
On the Horizon: This weekend is the gender reveal! I'm so excited to find out! I can't believe I've waited on this information for over a month now! Cliffton and I think baby is a boy (we both had dreams about it), but if it's a girl I'll be pleasantly surprised and just as elated! My mom and other family members seem to think it's a girl. Friends that we've asked have been split down the middle for guessing.
