37-38 Weeks Final Countdown!
Week 37-38: Monday July 9th, 2018
Marin's Size: Watermelon (or Spaghetti Squash) 6.3-8.5lbs , 19-21" (crown to heel)
Weight Gained: Weight gain around 27 lbs with potentially 0-2 weeks to go (18 days max...).
Pregnancy Symptoms: Still having pelvic pains especially if I've been sitting or lying still in one place for too long. Cliffton and my Mom actually have started helping massage my hip bones with a plastic massager and this seems to be helping quite a lot. I'm not sure if clumsiness is a pregnancy symptom, but I've literally been cutting myself with knives (on accident), dropping things on the floor, knocking things over. It's ridiculous. I also have continued to have bad indigestion and nausea, but I feel like I've learned what foods to avoid so it's not as bad as before.
Food Cravings: Willy's adobe chicken burritos with queso and cucumbers (no beans) have been perfect. I also tell them to 1/2 the amount of chicken (so I don't get indigestion). On the sweet side of things I've been eating this new ice cream I found that is absolutely amazing!!! It's the Magnum milk chocolate hazelnut flavor. I don't think the ice cream is actually a craving, it's totally something I would eat when not pregnant. But Baby seems to like it too so I'll blame it on the pregnancy. I actually just ate a chicken burrito for lunch and am now eating the ice cream as I'm typing up this post.
Food Aversions: No spicy food for Marin. I'll get Braxton Hicks contractions and/or a Charlie Horse at night if I do this. Not sure if that's the exact cause, but it happens literally every time.
Mood: Thankfully, I'm feeling much less anxiety and stress lately. I think it's just because I don't care anymore. I'm so pregnant and tired that my new attitude is, "what will be will be". My number one goal is to stay as calm and healthy as possible so that I can deliver our sweet little daughter safely. Everything else is beyond my control at this point.
Marin's Mood: Marin had a rough night last night because I ate too many mashed potatoes (indigestion ensued). Other than that, Marin seems to be as happy and active as ever. I think she's going to be a good baby, I can just feel it!
Baby Prepping Accomplishments: We rearranged the nursery yet again! We put up some more of my watercolor pictures, some cute shelves for decor and books, got the diaper changing table set up, and finally caved in and bought a diaper changing pail. Cliffton and I also both packed up our hospital bags. So we are ready to go anytime!
On the Horizon: This week will be my last full week of work! Next week I'm just going to play it by ear and see how I feel. I may or may not work on Friday the 20th (due date). Saturday the 21st I'm definitely not working though since I've told my fill in that will be her first day of work. This Friday we are going in for our last ultrasound scan to check on Marin's growth and see how big she is. I hope she's not too small, but also not too big. It's crazy to think, this might be my last post before she's born! It's so hard to predict. I kept thinking last week that she would come early, but now I'm beginning to feel that she will be slightly late. Last week at my gyno appt Dr. Soufi said I'm not dilated at all, but she did mention that Marin's head is very low (whatever that means).
Can't wait to meet our little girl! It won't be long now!
